Welcome
Immanuel is a church community in the heart of Savo. Our mission is to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ and to provide a church for all those who seek it. Whether you have been a Christian all your life or are interested in Christianity, you are welcome to come, see and hear what we are all about.
What is Christianity?
Immanuel Presbyterian Church has produced this translation in collaboration with Christianity Explored Ministries.
Do you have any questions about Christianity? Feel free to contact us and come visit our meetings and ask more about who Jesus is.
Our Weekly Gatherings
Sunday service
We will begin our public and weekly Sunday meetings on September 29th and on October 6th we will have an ordination and baptism service.

When? Our services start at 3 p.m

Where? Alava-talo: Siikaniemenkatu 4, 70620 Kuopio
What to expect? Our community is just taking shape. On Sundays, we gather to hear God's word from the Bible, sing and play together for God and each other, and hear what the Bible teaches. Our meetings are a combination of old liturgical and new Christian traditions.
The beautiful sound of children can be heard here on Sundays and it is always welcome. We have families with children and at the moment we have Sunday school during the sermon for the children.
Women's Bible Study
On Thursdays, starting at 4:30 p.m., we organize a shared time for women to pray together, share life, and delve into the word of God. Right now, they are going through the Gospel of John. (Bible Study is currently in Finnish)

Childcare is possible during Bible study.

Where? Because we meet at home, you can request more information via email.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
(John 1:14)
Meet Our Church Planters

Raimo and Annemari Survo have served the Church in various contexts for more than 10 years. Raimo spent his childhood in Lappeenranta and studied there to become a carpenter. Annemari is originally from Pieksämäki. They met at Logos Ministries of Finland's youth camp (Kansan Raamattuseura) and sensed a call to ministry in God's kingdom at a young age. They got married in 2011, and both studied music pedagogy in Kuopio. Raimo studied at the Agricola Theological Seminary and graduated with a "Master of Theological Studies" degree. Raimo is an ordained minister (teaching elder) in the International Presbyterian Church, and he is a pastor in the Immanuel Kuopio. They are also National Partners in the Mission to the World organization, which spreads the Gospel of Christ around the globe. Raimo and Annemari have three children: Adelina, Andreas, and Eleanor.
